The CoolView handpiece is the primary tool for vein treatment at Vein + Skin. Designed to treat both superficial and deeper vessels, it delivers dual-wavelength laser energy with built-in sapphire cooling — making it one of the most precise and comfortable options available for spider veins, leg veins, and facial vascular concerns.
CoolView uses both the 532 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths of the Excel V+ laser system. Laser energy is selectively absorbed by the haemoglobin within the targeted vessel, generating controlled heat that causes the vessel wall to collapse. The body then naturally reabsorbs the treated vein over the following weeks, gradually clearing it from view.
The integrated sapphire cooling window continuously cools the skin before, during, and after each pulse — protecting the surrounding tissue and improving comfort throughout the session.
Spot size is adjustable from 3 mm to 16 mm, allowing treatment of both fine individual vessels and broader areas of redness within the same session.
Sessions are performed in-clinic and typically completed within 30- 45 minutes, depending on the area and number of vessels being treated. Most patients return to normal activities shortly afterwards.
Temporary redness or mild swelling may occur and usually settles within a few hours to a couple of days. Some vessels clear after a single session; others — particularly larger or deeper leg veins — may require two to three treatments spaced several weeks apart.
Results develop gradually as the body clears the treated vessel. Improvement is typically visible within four to eight weeks following treatment.
Unlike IPL, which works only at a superficial level, the CoolView handpiece reaches both superficial and deeper vessels using two clinically proven wavelengths in a single treatment. Spot size flexibility allows the same session to address everything from fine facial capillaries to broader areas of redness on the legs — without switching devices.
